Stanley Weintraub was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 17, 1929. He earned a bachelor's degree in education at the West Chester State Teacher's College in 1949. He received his master's degree from Temple University "in absentia" because he was called to duty in the conflict in Korea two months prior to graduation.
